UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES IN JAPAN
Japan has ratified the Convention Concerning the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1992 and has been taking an active part in preservation effort of the natural and cultural heritage sites. As of January 2008, Japan has 11 cultural heritage sites and 3 natural heritage sites.
