Japanese GGP reaches to the people of Guji, Oromiya |
The project aims to improve access of medical services and hygiene for more than 8200 people. The project comprises of the construction of one clinic block, installation of a solar power system, and the construction of eight roof water harvesting systems (2 in Gosa Clinic, 2 in Wommaa Shellaa Primary School, 2 in Ababa Qooboo Primary School, 1 in Gosaa Wottiyyee Primary School and 1 in Me’ee Bokko). Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) implemented this project with a grant of USD 62,980. The Embassy of Japan has supported two projects in the past by FMM (the project for Improvement of Emergency Health Care Facilities and Primary Education Facilities in Gosa Village in 1997 with a grant of USD 69,607 and the project for the Construction of a School House and Improvement of Water Wells in Gosa Village in 1995 with a grant of USD 39,776.
Since 1989, the government of Japan has been supporting NGOs, communities and Local government to realize human security, i.e assisting the most needy and vulnerable people so that they can enjoy a decent life. In this regard, the government of Japan has expanded its support to the improvement of access to health service for the people of Guji. |
