Providing information on Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (NPS) related issues to the international society in a transparent and accurate manner is one of the Government of Japan’s duties. The Minister for Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced at a round table conference of cabinet ministers on December 24, 2002 that the "Inbound Tourism Initiative of Japan" had been formulated in cooperation with other related ministries and agencies to promote foreign tourist traffic to Japan. The Initiative is based on the "Basic Policies for Economic and Fiscal Policy Management and Structural Reform 2002" (approved at a cabinet meeting on June 25, 2002). |

The Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) was established in July 1988 in response to rising concerns about local-level internationalization in Japan. CLAIR was created to promote and provide support for local internationalization.
With its headquarters in Tokyo, CLAIR has a network of domestic branch offices in each prefecture and designated city in Japan. In addition, CLAIR has established a network of overseas offices in major cities around the world: New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Seoul, Sydney, and Beijing. |

Japan Center for Asian Historical Records (JACAR) : JACAR is a digital database of Japan's historical records testifying to its pre-war relations with the Asian countries. It is an ongoing project archiving official documents of the Cabinet, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Army and Navy, dating from the Meiji era through 1945. In an effort to share the facts of history, images of the original documents are made public through this site on an unprecedented scale. |
