Ato Berihanu Yoseph, President of the Dashen Fujiyama Society, handed over a letter and a donation of 32,083 Birr for the reconstruction of 3.11 earthquake and tsunami hit areas, to the Japanese Ambassador H.E Mr. Hiroyuki Kishino and Mr. Ito, Minister and Deputy Head of Mission on Friday 27 May 2011.
While having tea with H.E. Ambassador Kishino and Mr. Ito, after the handover ceremony, Ato Berihanu conveyed the sympathy of his Society to the people and Government of Japan and stressed his confidence that Japan will soon overcome the 3.11 crisis.
H.E. Ambassador Kishino on his part appreciated the generosity of the Dashen Fujiyama Society for its effort and underlined the encouragement of the contribution for the Japanese people.
The Dashen Fujiyama Society is a local association affiliated to the Japanese Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS). It works on cultural, technical and human resource development cooperation between Ethiopia and Japan. It is named after Mount Ras Dashen and Mount Fuji, the two largest mountains of Ethiopia and Japan, respectively. |
