*As a general rule, visa applications and telephone inquiries are not accepted on Saturdays, Sundays, and on days when the consulate is closed.
 

・Eligibility for Visa Application As a general rule, visas are for residents of Ethiopia. Those residing outside of Ethiopia should apply to the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General that has jurisdiction over their place of residence.
・Processing Time for Visa Issuance The standard processing time for visa issuance is approximately 1 to 2 weeks. However, depending on nationality, purpose of travel, planned length of stay, and the content of submitted documents, inquiries to relevant organizations in Japan may be necessary, which may require further processing time. Please apply well in advance of your planned travel date.
